G'day everyone,
August already — and Wenty is looking a treat. The course is the best it has been for years, we've got new bench seats for a breather between holes, a fresh Pay and Play system humming along, and a stack of good reasons to get yourself out here. Mark the AGM for Monday 7 September, lock in the Car Boot Sale on the long weekend Sunday 4th October, and don't leave your Ambrose team too late Registration closes Wednesday 14 October, 5.00pm. Plenty on — see you on the fairways.

💳 Wenty Golf — Pay and Play Is Live
On Sunday 26 July the new Wenty Golf – Pay and Play system went live. Check it out! It's saving the club a ton of fees compared with the previous system, and you can use it to pay green fees, competition fees and cart hire.
There's also an associated online booking system that will manage long-term cart bookings for members.
- We still prefer cash on competition days — it doesn't attract any operational fees
- Cart #7 (petrol cart) should be up for hire by the time you read this, in place of the Vendi Cart
- If cart hire proves popular, we'll add more carts to the system
- Hire carts are monitored and geo-located — they'll stop if you try to leave the course, and club personnel get an SMS straight away
- Carts activate within about 30 seconds of your payment

🌿 Course & Maintenance
Ongoing greens maintenance right through July and August — fairway mowing, green repairs, and the addition of bench seats. A big thanks to our ESI volunteer trainee park rangers for their ongoing efforts. The course is the best it has been for years. Come and see for yourself!
🪑 New Bench Seats Around the Course
A number of new bench seats have been installed so golfers and visitors can take a strategic rest on the way round. You'll find them at:
- Tee box at the 7th fairway
- Tee box at the 14th fairway
- Tee box at the 16th fairway
Sites were chosen with minimum maintenance in mind — sit back, take in the outback air, then knock in the next putt.
⛳ Course Care — Lift the Flag After 2 Putts
A bit of damage has been occurring while players pick balls out of the hole. To avoid this, pick the ball out by hand — it's much easier if you pull the flag first. Committee members will be giving players a friendly nudge on this one. Look after the greens and they'll look after your scorecard.
👥 Welcome New Members
Slow paper trail on our end — apologies for the delayed shout-out. A warm Wenty welcome to Brendon Lane and our other new players who've come on board, and to Adrian Channing , who's already joined us for competitions. Great to have you out on the course — stick your head into the clubrooms and say g'day.
📋 AGM — Monday 7 September, 5:30pm at the Clubrooms
Our Annual General Meeting is on Monday 7 September at 5.30pm, and this year we'd especially love to see some fresh faces. The AGM isn't just paperwork — it's your chance to have a real say in where the club heads next season, and a good night to find out what actually goes on behind the scenes.
You don't need to be on the committee to come along — every member is welcome, and we'd genuinely like to hear your ideas. If you've ever thought about getting a bit more involved, this is the easiest way to start, whether that's a hand with something small or putting yourself forward for the committee.
We'll keep the formal side moving, and there'll be light refreshments provided afterwards — so come along, have your say, and catch up with a few mates you might not have seen in a while.
🚗 Car Boot Sale — Sunday 4 October
Over the October long weekend (3–5 Oct), we're holding a Car Boot Sale on Sunday 4 October in the golf club car park.
- $10 per site or $20 for a marquee
- Plants for sale
- BBQ snags available in the clubrooms
Bring a boot-full, grab a snag, and make a day of it. All welcome.
